  It is festival time and we are getting prepared for the fair where we can sell the bags... Here are our students pasting stickers on the bags..... The pleasure that we experienced as we got ready to sell the bags is incredible. You can judge from our cheerful faces.....

  Each Monday, during the zero period, we have the ladies from the community coming to us. We issue them the cloth material. Some of us collect the stitched bags from the ladies. We feel proud to see our creations.. Our First Bag 

  As St.Mark's School,Meera Bagh gets ready to start the production of cloth hand bags,the Delhi Government comes up with stricter rules to curb the use of plastic bags.

  St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, New Delhi, India is located in the Asia Pacific region. It  comprises of approx. 3800 students and 150 teachers. The school follows the CBSE curriculum and offers science, commerce and humanities streams after class 10. The school is participating in the school enterprise challenge for the first time and is eager to teach its students entrepreneur skills. A  lot of brain storming sessions took place wherein it was decided that paper bags and cloth jholas from the scrap newspapers and pieces of clothes would be produced. After some realistic surveys and deliberations, it has now been decided that cloth hand bags would be the best business proposition. The mission of our business is ‘creating best out of waste to save the environment’.   St. Mark's School, Meera Bagh has always been a pioneer Eco Club School. The students genuinely care for the environment. We were one of the first schools in New Delhi to be presented with a recycling unit by the Delhi Government. In fact, recently, we have got our latest recycling unit from the Delhi Government. Around 15 students of the school were selected to participate in a Climate Camp at Sonderborg, Denmark in the year 2009.The school has been successfully organizing week long event in the month of April to commemorate Earth Day.All these events are organized by the students. From planning the event to inviting the guests, each and every thing is done by the students themselves.   It all started with a committee being set up. Teachers with different skills are part of the committee. The teachers have selected the students who would be trained to become good entrepreneurs. The meetings turned out to be good brain storming sessions for everyone, students, teachers and the locals, contributed to come out with a good business proposal.
